AADE Mission Statement:
The American Association of Diabetes Educators is dedicated to advancing the role of the diabetes education , care, and prevention.

SFBAADE Strategies

Vision: Build and maintain strong SFBAADE membership to create Diabetes Educators for the future.

Strategies:

  1. Develop and implement pilot for program
  2. Sharps disposal
  3. Develop stronger legislative ties
  4. Create depth in SFBAADE through development of participation and committees eg retreat
  5. Outreach to organizations/ Diversity
  6. Membership/Outreach

Goals:
Recognition: AADE will advance recognition of Diabetes Education as central to quality diabetes care

Education- AADE will promote professional development

Advocacy- AADE will increase demand for diabetes education within the evolving healthcare system

Organizational Excellence- AADE will develop the organization that effectively meets member needs

Develop a 3-Year Plan/annual plans

  • 4 General meetings
    • 2 presentors
    • 1 networking/committee work
    • Holiday party
    • Venue: non- hospital dinners if possible
  • 1 all-day CE program (spring)/ membership recruitment
  • 1 half day program (fall)
  • Chapter retreat
